Sukkot / Simchat Torah
During Sukkot the children participate in a sukka hop.
Simchat Torah is a VERY lively time at shul. The young people from the community at large lead us in dances with the Torah. Women dance in the women's section with Torahs as well. During the last hakafa, we dance all the way to the Sphardi shul, and do a joyous hakafa together.
During the day, women read from the Torah to women in a separate room, while the men of the community each get their aliya.
